There are two types of learning - Learning for exams and Learning for understanding. Unfortunately, our current education system focus on the first one. But I prioritize the latter above the first one. I believe, by promoting learning for understanding, students would be able to apply the gained knowledge not only in their academics but also in their day-to-day life. It's a slow process, but yeah, the fruits are worth it.
I am a person who believes that the only way to learn something is by doing it; not by listening to someone else or reading. So my methodology involves making my student solve the problems on their own, asking thought provoking questions on the subject we are learning, etc. So if you want a person who solves all the questions in a book, I am not the one you're looking for. I am a teacher who imparts knowledge to my students so that they can solve any question on their own.
I have realized that, through teaching I am improving my understanding; I am learning. Let's learn together.
