Photosynthesis is a chemical process that takes place in plants , where carbon dioxide , sunlight, and water are consumed by the plants to form oxygen and energy-rich organic compounds.
• In this reaction , we have carbon dioxide , water and sunlight as the reactants and on the product side , we get sugar and oxygen .
• It converts solar energy into chemical energy.
• The oxygen we breathe is the result of photosynthesis in plants.
The balanced chemical equation for the process of photosynthesis is as follows:
6CO2(g) + 12H2O(aq) —(LIGHT)→ C6H12O6 +
6O2(g) + 6H2O(aq)
This process of plants is to make fruits.
