Kamendra Kumar

I have completed my doctoral degree in Neuroscience (Ph.D. awarded in 2014) from School of Studies in Neuroscience Jiwaji University Gwalior under the direction of Prof. I.K. Patro. The subject of my dissertation is Influence of maternal exposure to deltamethrin during gestation on postnatal development of rat cerebellum. My research focuses on the investigation of causes of environmental neurotoxic agents on the pre- and postnatal nervous system development. I am particularly interested in analysing developmental neurotoxicity of insecticides in terms of neuronal proliferation, differentiation, migration and synaptogenesis along with pre-weaning physical and reflex development, and post-weaning spontaneous motor behaviour, motor coordination, exploratory behaviour, neuromuscular strength, anxiety like behaviour, learning and memory.
Presently, I am working as a DBT-Research Associate (D.O.J, January 2015) at School of Life Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, under the supervision of Prof. Deepak Sharma. The area of my research is based on iron induced epilepsy model.
