Hello Shruti,
To develop your skills firstly, you should be knowing what skills you want or desire to build. Later, once your vision is clear, you can work out on that. Now suppose, if I want to develop my communication skills in a particular language, then I have to be aware of the basics of that language.
Then after, I will be confident that I have at least a minimal knowledge of a language which is enough to speak. Try speaking that language with people surrounding me. As now my speaking skills became efficient soon, 'll start learning new and hard words to enhance the communication. It was presented as an example before you. Now it's your turn to decide on what skills you want to develop.
