What is the name of the nearest star to the earth?

Sun is the nearest star. Apart from that proxima centauri is nearest which is 4.2 light years and takes nearly 100 yrs if you travel in rocket with a speed of 18 km per sec. Since according to hinduism our gods came from this star itself. Probably I hope some human form exist there
