Pointers is nothing but access the address of the variable. One of the usage of pointers is when you want more than 1 variable values to be modified by function called in the main function. Take an example where you would like to have a single function that calculates area and perimeter based on the radius value you passed. You can pass the radius value to function using normal call by value, pass the address of area and perimeter defined in main function using pointers. The function will calculate both the value and it would be available in the main function.
