Why density of Ice is lesser than water?

Simple understand basic concept density= mass/ volume in conversion from water to ice its volume increases mass remains same so density becomes less.

A gas exerts pressure on the walls of the containing vessel because __________. (It possesses momentum, the gas molecules collide with each other, the gas has finite volume)

it possesses momentum, collisions among molecules are elastic collisions so there is no change in energy..only direction changes and for calculating pressure we assume no collision for the path between the walls.
