It is a combination of various methods: 1. You need to enroll for classes- it could be private, online or with an institute. I personally would recommend private classes or learning at an institute. Online classes in order to learn languages are kind of futile. Also, one definitely cannot self learn. Self-learning a language requires high linguistic skill and self discipline. 2. Depending on what level of French you want to learn you can enroll for conversational or level based courses. I would recommend to start with the basic level A1 classes. You could goto Alliance Française or any private institute for A1 classes. 3. After you begin the classes, you would have to put in a lot of extra effort by learning grammatical concepts from youtube videos and practice speaking with pen pals. You could also practice using apps like Duolingo and Memrise! Hope this helped! read less

A good and authentic language centre should help you. The best bet would be Alliance Francaise where they have certified professionals with experience to teach, a good library to refer books and they also provide good course materials.
