When humans became old, slowly their body and mind also starts to feel the heat of their age. For them, yoga is the perfect method to maintain their youth, stability, inner strength and body balance. But not all yogas are suitable for everyone. You need to find out which kind of yoga suits your health and perform them accordingly. There are mainly 6 types of yogas and it is good to understand the differences between each of them before you start your practice. The six types are explained below:

  • Hatha Yoga: This is the most ideal kind of yoga for beginners because it includes very slow and gentle movements. The sanskrit meaning of the term ?hatha? is ?force? and all the other categories of yoga comes under this. Hatha yoga is actually a combination of different poses, or asanas, with breathing techniques, which helps to improve your body flexibility and balance.

  • Vinyasa Yoga: Those who like to reduce their body weight can go for Vinyasa yoga. It is also called power yoga, which makes you to move continuously with a series of bending and stretching asanas. ?Surya Namaskar? is a popular category of vinyasa yoga. The word ?vinyasa in sanskrit means ?connection? and each yoga step is connected with an inhalation or an exhalation.

  • Iyengar Yoga: Regular practice of Iyengar yoga helps to strengthen your muscles and joints. For those with neck and back problems can practice this yoga. Iyengar yoga includes several standing, seating and twisting asanas. In this yoga, the instructors use various props like straps, blankets, blocks etc. and every poses will be held for some time rather than quickly moving to the next pose.

  • Bikram Yoga: Bikram yoga is excellent for building flexibility. It is developed by Bikram Choudhury and it includes a series of 26 poses, which is done in two sessions. One important thing you should keep in mind is that, you should avoid eating at least two hours before the class.

  • Kundalini: This type of yoga is developed to make your mind feel relaxed. Kundalini yoga include many breathing techniques, movements, mantra chanting etc. and is more spiritual than all other forms of yoga.

  • Ashtanga Yoga: Ashtanga yoga is meant for seasoned yoga practitioners. It includes lots of poses and is really a challenging one. Ashtanga also consist of 10 sun salutations, backbends, and inversions. In Ashtanga, the movements are predefined and consist of four different phases.

  • Prenatal yoga: It is basically meant for pregnant ladies and one of the most important exercise that include lots of breathing techniques. Practicing prenatal yoga helps to reduce risks during pregnancy.
