No please dont buy radel veena first practice on normal mysore veena , Tanjore veena are expensive but it has good tonal quality . So first get hands of practice on normal veena . Radel veena are not upto satisfaction . It is meant for person who have good hand on experience on veena .

Veena is a beautiful Instrument and probably tougher to learn. So you need proper guidance. The most important thing is to find a Good Teacher.. And the rest is your Passion and Commitment..

Get a tanjore veena , practice every day for 1 hour daily and get a proper guru to teach this instrument.

It is purely driven by Passion, Commitment and lots of Practice..

Find a good teacher and you can learn any instrument ..

Not really. If you are planning to learn guitar or Keyboard/piano it is certainly not important to learn Indian classical. These are western instruments and must be learnt following their theory and methods. Coming to Indian instruments like Veena, Flute (Indian style) or Harmonium yes knowledge of Indian classical is essential, which however your instrument teacher would impart...  more»

Basics of veena it will take anywhere between 6 months to 1 years , concert patterns require you to learn atleast for 6-8 years.
