"Why, Wurtz reaction is limited to the synthesis of symmetric alkanes ?" in   Tuition/Class XI-XII Tuition (PUC)

There are two main limitations of wurtz reaction. 1. This reaction produces only symmetrical alkane. If we use two different alkyl halide, the product will be the mixture of different compounds. It's quite difficult to separate these compounds therefore we always prefer to use one alkyl halide in this reaction. 2. We can only use primary alkyl halide in this reaction. If we use secondary or tertiary alkyl halide, the reaction will be elimination and as a result we will get different product.

"Is there any difference between ionization enthalpy and ionization potential ?" in   Tuition/Class XI-XII Tuition (PUC)

Ionization energy, Ionization potential, and Ionization enthalphy are the same - all signify the amount of energy necessary to remove one electron from a neutral atom. The term ionization energy (EI) was formerly called ionization potential, and was at one stage measured in volts. The name "ionization energy" is now strongly preferred. In atomic physics the ionization energy is measured using the unit "electronvolt" (eV).
