Why limestone is changed into marble?

Limestone will convert into marble with virtually any type of metamorphism. The main exception is hydrothermal metamorphism which introduces silica rich fluids, in which case the rock turns into calcium rich silicate skarn minerals. Marble is a metamorphic rock resulting from regional or rarely contact metamorphism of sedimentary carbonate rocks ie either limestone or dolostone.This process causes a complete crystallization of the original rock.The temperature and pressure used to form marble will destroy any fossils and any sedimentary textures in the rock.The texures are the result of pureness in the limestone.When limestone is heated to a high temperature, and squeezed at the base of a mountain, it becomes the metamorphic rock marble. Marbles are fairly dense, relatively easy to cut, or be shaped into blocks, and some forms are white in colour
