IdentityI, Soniya Mirani, Masters in Biotechnology from The University of Texas at San Antonio [UTSA], USA and B.E. BioMedical from Thadomal Shahani Engineering College [TSEC], Mumbai have a strong academic and research background in the field of Biology, and would like to apply for the post of Biology Teacher in your esteemed Institute.
I have worked as Biology Teacher in the IGCSE section of NES International School, Mulund (Mumbai) and S.M. Shetty International School, Powai (Mumbai). During this time, I was additionally involved in designing experiments, assignments and research questions for students to help them understand better. I resorted to innovative teaching techniques like powerpoint presentations, role play and many more activity based learning methods like bingo, etc. I was the class-in-charge of IBDP and also a part of the Discipline Committee, Scrutiny Committee and actively involved in various administrative works like procuring books, designing IBDP Planner, etc. during my stay at NES International School.
I do have prior teaching experience as a lecturer in Thadomal Shahani Engineering College, and as a Teaching Assistant during the course of my Masters. I am pretty much aware of all the job needs of this wonderful profession.
My high level of concentration and excellent organizational & presentational skills have helped me achieve a strong academic record - both as a student & teacher, which reflects my diligence and commitment to success. I try to ensure development of soft skills and addition to the knowledge base of the students through academic presentations and presenting on research articles.
I also have research experience and worked as a Graduate Research Assistant for almost two years, developing a live attenuated vaccine against coccidioidomycosis under Dr. Garry T Cole.
