Remember though that just because someone has subscribed to your site it doesn’t mean they you can blitz them with emails. I’d play safe, make them aware what they are going to be getting, and how often, and use the (optional) double opt-in that the plugin provides.

There are about 80 pw protected pages each with a different password so the cookie that WP uses won't work in this situation either.

The best approach is to use both EC2 and S3. You cannot use S3 alone to host a Wordpress website. The web server would run on EC2 and you can offload your media content to S3. I’d play safe, make them aware what they are going to be getting, and how often, and use the (optional) double opt-in that the plugin provides.

There are about 80 pw protected pages each with a different password so the cookie that WP uses won't work in this situation either.

The best approach is to use both EC2 and S3. You cannot use S3 alone to host a Wordpress website. The web server would run on EC2 and you can offload your media content to S3. The best approach is to use both EC2 and S3. You cannot use S3 alone to host a Wordpress website. The web server would run on EC2 and you can offload your media content to S3. Additionally you could just use EC2 (or Amazon Lightsail) for cost savings. Also, it’s quite easy to do local development of Wordpress and exporting the work and importing it to a Wordpress instance running on EC2.
