In my seven years of experience in teaching kids, I would say it's better to leave your son in his independent space. I assume he's 4 or 5 years old now. And at this age, expecting a kid to learn patience wouldn't be right. It is the age of playing and running around, whereas patience comes with age. He will become more matured as he grows up.
Now, the best way to teach him anything going by the flow. Instead of making efforts to make him sit in one place, leave him in his comfort zone, and you enter it. If he wants to play, let him run and play. Try to infuse the science, maths or language concepts into his playing games. Since he's in class one, it will be even easier to do. So by doing this, the nature of your son wouldn't be disturbed. Many life skills trainers and YouTube videos can guide you through teaching through activities and games. These methods are proved to be more effective than the traditional teaching methods.

There are many ways to develop writing skills, of which the primary method is to increase reading habit a lot. The more one reads, the more they can write.
Secondly, a creative writer needs to have an analytical view of everything, which makes him/her look at the events occurring around them with the third eye. Reading between the lines matters a lot. This analytical view pushes you to get a new and fresh perception of things that you can present in your prose, poetry, novel or any form of writing.
Publishing a book has become one easy way in the current trend. You can publish a book through publishers like Notionpress who support independent writers and debutants. You can also approach Amazon Kindle, where you will also be able to publish both e-book and hardcopy of your writings.
