Welcome to the ZENDANKAI Martial Arts. Founded in 2019 by Sensei Rakesh Kumar Runwal, our organization is dedicated to developing Goju Ryu karate and providing structured, disciplined, and high-quality training in Traditional Okinawan Karate at an affordable price.
"ZENDANKAI" is a Japanese phrase that means "ALL LEVELS – LEARNINGS AT ALL LEVELS – MIND, BODY, SPIRIT (INNER AND OUTER)." It signifies that martial arts can be learned at any age and offer benefits for the mind, body, and spirit.
Mission: At ZENDANKAI Martial Arts Academy, we help people of all ages and backgrounds reach their full potential through martial arts. We focus on physical fitness, mental strength, and personal growth while teaching values like respect and perseverance. Our expert instructors and supportive community prepare students to succeed in both martial arts and life.

We are proud to be affiliated with Gōjū-Ryū Okinawakan Karate-do Kyokai and Ryukyu Dento Kobujutsu Hozon Budo Kyokai, striving to spread traditional Goju Ryu Okinawan karate and Okinawan Kobudo knowledge in India.

SENSEI RAKESH KUMAR RUNWAL (1981)
Sensei Rakesh Kumar Runwal began his martial arts journey in 1993 (at the age of 13) in Pune, India, training in various karate styles. His passion for Karate led him to follow and teach this traditional art form. Driven by his dedication to karate, he left his corporate job as a Software Engineer at Infosys to pursue his passion.
In 2019, Sensei Rakesh fulfilled his dream of training in Okinawa, Japan, the birthplace of Goju Ryu Karate. He received IVth DAN (YONDAN) from Grandmaster Kiichi Nakamoto, a 10th Degree Hanshi of Goju Ryu Karate, and learned from the world's best and most senior masters in Goju Ryu style.
He is one of the very few direct students of Grandmaster Kiichi Nakamoto in India.
