Overview

I have taught ESL while studying for my Bachelors, and have thoroughly learnt and enjoyed my experience. I learnt the importance of soft skills while working at my university as an assistant to student director, and devised my own syllabus while also learning from my employer. I interned at a local organization, ANCF, where I further enhanced my skills and put my valuable learning to use.
I studied Japanese at my university for two and a half years and then lived in Osaka, Japan for a semester to finish my language course. I completed my N3 and I am presently preparing for my N2. I designed a program specifically for students/professionals who are soon to travel to Japan to study or work. Learning N5 doesn't always guarantee that you could communicate well. As a response to this problem my program helps individuals to get used to Japanese before they head out. I also tutor N5 Japanese students.

In the second sentence, "the houses were being decorated," the person is witnessing the process of the action. The person is actually seeing people decorate houses, and they are not completely decorated when the person was seeing them. Please also look up Simple Past Tense vs Past Continous Tense.
