Arshad Nair

I am a researcher in Physics with special interest in Atmospheric Sciences and am currently working on problems involving aerosol-cloud electrification interactions at IITM, Pune. Teaching is a hobby for me, and at the same time it is a serious enterprise.

I love teaching English at the school-level. I have always been attracted to the language and have several distinctions at my own school level. In 2002, I had a perfect score on the University of Cambridge – Young Learners English (YLE) Flyers Examination. The previous year, I was awarded the Thrissur District English Proficiency Examination Gold Medal. I was also my school topper in the 10th Standard AISSE (CBSE) with 95.2%.

I have a teaching experience of 1 year at Pune. It was a very interesting and challenging assignment and I had the opportunity to motivate interest in the subject, weed out misconceptions, unlearn wrong concepts, and rebuild concepts with clear understanding. This will be my approach. From the examination point of view, a lot of questions (including past papers) was done and needless to say, there was significant improvement in the student's test scores.

I would like to tutor a student who may be weak in English, but is open to learning. I hope that learning happens both ways, with the tutor and student pro actively improving each other.
