About the Course
“Fellowship in 2D Echocardiography” is a six month online program including a 3 day contact program which includes lectures, live echo demonstrations and hands on experience.
This course is meant for doctors who are interested in learning to perform basic echocardiography and Doppler studies and covers all the aspects of echocardiography.
1)To understand the basics of cardiac anatomy/physiology.
2)To understand the essential physical principles of cardiac ultrasound.
3)To understand the normal views and values in echocardiography.
4)Apply routine scan protocols during a 2D/M-Mode/Doppler (pulse wave, continuous wave and color flow Imaging) echocardiographic examination and appropriate measurements.
5)Identify normal/abnormal characteristics of 2D cardiac anatomy and explain the role of cardiac Doppler and the necessary qualitative/quantitative measurements.
6)Understand and assess the ultrasound findings associated with valvular heart disease, cardiomyopathies, ischemic heart disease (CAD), pericardial disease and cardiac masses and other cardiac disorders.
