In this video we'll solve a decision making word problem in Queuing Theory in Operations Research. Our question is- There is only one cashier in a movie theatre to handle all the show bookings. We have to decide whether they need employing an assistant to assist the cashier. Based on the given data,you need to do the calculation and make the decision.
4. Queuing Theory #4: Slow-Fast Repairmen Problem:
Today we'll solve a decision making word problem in Queuing Theory in Operations Research(OR). Our question is- A factory has two repairmen for repairing of faulty machines,one is fast-but-expensive and another is slow-but-cheap; both charge Rs 5 for repairing of one machine but their repairing capacity is different. There is breakdown charge or downtime charge associated with every non-productive machine hours. Now you've to decide by appropriate calculations which repairman to employ for minimum operational cost but fast repair service.
5. Queuing Theory #5: Medical Industry Problem:
Today we'll solve a Queuing Theory word problem which includes logical decision making. Our question is- A multispeciality clinic has only one MRI machine and due to increased patient inflow,many patients have to wait in queue to get serviced. Management wants to decrease the queue size and increase the patient handling capacity. But that comes with an increased treatment fees. Now you've to calculate what should be the fees if management wants to decrease the queue size to half or less.

Today we'll solve a simple problem in Queuing Theory for a restaurant.
