Premium Parent Log In and Support
Parents hardly ever know how students are performing at school. Even the coaching centers and the tutors fail to provide transparency or an updated information to parents on the progress of their child.
Parents get a free personal user id and password to see:
- the lessons that their child has accessed;
- the days, time and duration that the child has spent online at MathBuster;
- the quizzes and tests the child has taken together with his/her scores.
In addition, parents of students enrolled in IMP can contact the mentors to discuss their child's performance at any time. They can contact mentors through emails or request for a live chat.
Individualized Practice Designed by Mentors
Students who want to improve math scores must practice regularly. Students can:
Take quizzes for each topic covered in the NCERT textbook. There are at least 3 quizzes in each chapter. Each quiz has 20 MCQ's that cover all kinds of questions on the topic.
Each chapter has three practice assignments - PA1, PA2, PA3 that cover three depth of knowledge levels. Each practice assignment takes 60-90 minutes.
Scientifically structured and organised practice assignments with solutions; [Read more...]
Every student has different needs and different learning styles. The purpose of the practice is to help students make progress. This means students must practice what they do not know so that they learn new skills to solve problems.
This is where our mentors help you. By looking at your performance on topic quizzes, they suggest what practice assignment you should do. This saves you a lot of time that you would spend on doing problems that you already know well.
Help During Practice
Most students give up practice because they get stuck. This is time when students need to be supported and motivated. Our mentors are always available to monitor if the student is giving up because of any reason and step in to help - anytime, all the time.
Individualized Assessment Plan
Whether in class or at coaching center, all students take the same test. This is primitive form of assessment and is much less effective than individualized testing that is geared to the needs of an individual student.
MathBuster courses contain more than 90 online tests for the entire syllabus and it is neither possible nor required for each student to take every test/quiz. In this situation, it becomes difficult for the student to determine which assessment should he take and when. This is where the mentors come in.
IMP takes assessment of students progress to the highest levels with individualized assessment plans.
Out of the 3 tests available for each chapter, your mentor decides what test you should take first. This decision is based on your performance in the quizzes in that chapter as well as your performance goals.
The mentor reviews your performance and tells you what your knowledge gaps are and how to remove them. The remedial action could be in the form of reviewing tutorials, watching videos, taking a topic quiz or attempting a practice assignment.
Once you are ready, your mentor decides if you should repeat a chapter level test or proceed to the next level of test.
Mentoring: Guidance and Support to Plan and Execute
Every student needs a mentor to make the best use of his time and the available resources to achieve success.
Unfortunately, neither teachers in school nor tutors or parents have adequate time to mentor students when they need them the most. This is where MathBuster IMP steps in.
Our mentors help students:
Make SMART goals;
Create a study plan to achieve their performance goals;
Create a study schedule based on the plan.
Decide the learning activities a student should do;
Support the student during the activities;
Monitor the performance of the student on these activities;
Suggest remedies to fix problems and knowledge gaps
Our mentors are trained to take care of every students learning needs for math.
