A friend from Manhattan School of Music told me that the easiest way is to learn anything to do it as slowly as possible(painfully slow). Your brain doesn't yet recognise them as familiar shapes, and that's what you have to build when you learn something new. Music is all shapes and patterns. I put on the metronome at 60 (say), and every four counts change the chord. But here's the fun bit, every time you go around the chords twice, push the bpm up 2(but be honest, if you fumble, start again at 60), and in about 20mins you'll make more progress than a few days worth of practice. Try this with literally anything; thank me later.
Also, side note, what's also essential is retention. You dont want to be practising for longer than 15-20 mins at a time; it's almost worthless and only tiring. Frequent 15 mins bursts of full concentration help you avoid mental fatigue, retain information and advance faster.

On Mac you have Logic Pro, Protools, Studio... ...more
