passion
you don't need to know any of those two words, all you need to know the sound and it's beauty..in other words you should be able to copy sound(pitch) if you want to learn music..no other skill is needed and ofcourse the three things mentioned above.. accompanied by hard-work i.e. practice both physical and mental...Thanks, I hope it may help..best of luck
