I have extensive experience of teaching the art of playing the Mridangam - more than 38 years. Mridangam is taught both in person as private tutions, group classes and online through internet using Skype and this method has its own unique advantages.

Konakkol is the art of performing percussion syllables vocally in South Indian Classical music, the Carnatic music performance art of vocal percussion. Konnakol is the spoken component of solkattu, which refers to a combination of konnakol syllables spoken while simultaneously counting the tala (meter) with the hand. It is comparable in some respects to bol in Hindustani music, but allows the composition, performance or communication of rhythms. Konakkol classes are held as private tuitions and over the internet using Skype, Hangouts, etc.
