"

The alkali metals are low melting. Which of the following alkali metals is expected to melt if the room temperature rises to 30°C?
(a) Na (b) K (c) Rb (d) Cs" in

Cs will be melted at 30 going dowm the group due to increasing atomic radius and thus lattice energy decreases proportionally.

"Justify the given statement with suitable examples “the properties of the elements are a periodic function of their atomic numbers”." in

Group number defines valancy of element ex:- IA group elements H, Li, Na, k etc having one electron in last orbit, similarly it defines for other groups. Thus for Hydrogen -1, Li - 2,1, Na-2,8,1 for K -2,8,8,1. number of orbits are increasing but last orbit contains only ne electron in each case.

from electronic configuration in view elements are in perodic function of their atomic number.

"Explain why a man jumping out of a moving train falls with his head forward?" in

Newton's law of inertia is a factor legs comes to halt when he jumps out of the train but opper part of the body remains in motion in the direction of motion of the train thus head will be forward when he jumpsout from a running train.

"

If several passengers are standing in a moving bus, then it is said to be dangerous. In which manner, you will justify this statement." in

lower part of the body in contact slows down per say the speed of the bus if the change is sudden where as the upper part of the body remains in the direction of motion.

It must be remembered that if the change in velocity is sudden otherwise body adjust stream line motion if the change in velocity is smooth.
