Overview

I started learning guitar at the age of 12 and it's been 11 years now since I've been playing different kinds of guitar.

Besides being a guitar teacher I am a live performer too.
I had my first live performance at age 16 during schooling and performed intensively during college in almost every possible event. I won various competition with my band by the name of Heterodox Music Society and was recognized as the number 1 guitarist in I.P. university.

These days I am doing gigs with the band 'Aakhira' as the lead/rhythm guitarist and vocalist of the band.

I play both acoustic and electric guitar, and I can play various genres like Blues, rock, pop, classical, jazz, etc.

My singing expertise is in western songs but I also do hindi, bollywood songs.

I like to teach because it's always fun to meet new people, share your knowledge and ideas with them, get to know about their thinking and ideas. It also helps me to learn a lot of things from my students as different minds think differently. As a musician I always look for sharing my knowledge with others and learning the best from others too as their is no limit to learning for anyone.

Amplifiers are not just the speakers to produce sound but also do they define your guitars sound. As the word itself can suggests that it amplifies the sound. Besides just the volume nob you get gain nob, treble nob, bass nob, mids nob, to vary the kind of sound you want out of your amp. Moreover their are sound effects options too like tremelo, reverb, distortion and its tone and such, which actually add extra characteristics to the sound. Good quality amplifiers are very important for making great sound which people would to hear. Also that you shall know what effects do you want to have in your amp and what kind of the exact sound you are looking for as there is a vast variety of this stuff. You can experiment and take your time before investing in buying an amp.

I learnt classical guitarist, can I directly play electric guitar or should I take care of something?

If you are through with the basic and intermediate level of learning then you can switch to electric guitar else you shall stick to acoustic guitar only. As you'll have to change your style of playing the electric guitar because of the string and hence the sound sensitivity. Being a classical guitar... ...more
If you are through with the basic and intermediate level of learning then you can switch to electric guitar else you shall stick to acoustic guitar only. As you'll have to change your style of playing the electric guitar because of the string and hence the sound sensitivity. Being a classical guitar player the difference you'll notice on electric will be too contrasting but still it depends on your goal and your skill level. Also that to go for electric guitar you'll have to delve into the add-on stuff like amplifiers, effect pedals, guitar cables, guitar intonation, pick ups and their adjustments and such, to get a great sound. These things comes in large variety and you can experiment and explore a lot with these but it involves a lot of cost and time too to do that all.

Which brand has best guitar strings?

In my opinion Ernie Ball provides the best strings be it for an acoustic or electric guitar. Once you try it you will really like the bright warm long lasting tone it offers. Many great legends like Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, Slash, Mark Knopler, etc have used these strings through out their career. You'll... ...more
In my opinion Ernie Ball provides the best strings be it for an acoustic or electric guitar. Once you try it you will really like the bright warm long lasting tone it offers. Many great legends like Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, Slash, Mark Knopler, etc have used these strings through out their career. You'll find a range of strings by this brand. Strings with different gauge size like 0.09 which are extra light, 0.10 which are light and 0.11 which are hard and heavy, depending on your preference to the touch and feel of playing the guitar. Material coating also matters as in if you go for nickel plated strings these are deep and warm toned strings and cobalt coating provides a very bright, distinctive and crisp tone. I'd suggest to go for nickel wounded strings as they are economical and more durable then cobalt coating strings. And also that their sound suits good in a lot of genres like blues, rock, pop, jazz.

When changing the broken string, should I buy same company and model?

You can buy the same company and model of the broken string if it's available. As good companies like D'addario, Ernie ball, Elixir and such don't sell loose strings, you'll have to buy the whole pack which will be unnecessary money expenditure when your rest of the strings are in good form. You can buy the same company and model of the broken string if it's available. As good companies like D'addario, Ernie ball, Elixir and such don't sell loose strings, you'll have to buy the whole pack which will be unnecessary money expenditure when your rest of the strings are in good form. You can go for Alice strings as that's the only good enough quality strings available when it comes top buying a particular string and not the complete pack.
