A versatile performer, Hema is a promising and committed dancer . She was introduced to this art form at age of 13. Hema had her initial training in Bharatanatyam under the sole tutelage and guidance of Guru Sri R. . Chandramohan of Sri Nandigeswarar Dance Academy. Hema has been involved in many productions throughout her tutelage at the institution. She exhibits good command over on technique as well as mature abhinaya. Her dance training included studying with teachers in Malaysia and abroad. With a dance career over two decades, Hema has performed in several prestigious festivals and venues at home and abroad. Hema also had the privilege of taking classes from the legendary Padma Bushan Dr. Padma Subrahmanyam where she was guided and successfully completed her MFA in Bharatanatyam. Hema also pursues her interest in carnatic vocal under the guidance of Mr. Sundarajajan, Chennai. While running her legal practice, Hema continues her passion for Dance . She is thefounder and principal of Nandhithaa Arts Malaysia and the President of Nandhithaa, Creative Arts and Cultural Society, Selangor.

Hema offers Barathanatyam classes for beginners, intermediate students and advance students. Yoga and theory lessons are part of the syllabus. Students are required to sit for exams and will be assessed by external teachers. For mature students assessment is not compulsory.
