The pronunciation of 'R' depends on the position of its appearance. If it is the initial letter of a word, then it is pronounced and that too with a rolled tongue applying more stress,e.g.-rush, rule etc. It becomes silent if it is in the end or sometimes in the middle due to the native accent and nothing else. In that case, the other consonant and the vowel gains more stress,e.g.-car, though this is not the case with non-native speakers like the Indians.
