What is meaning of S, P, D, F in Chemistry?

S=the elements whose valence electrons are in the S orbital P=the elements with valence electrons in p orbitas D=valence electrons in the d orbital Similarly F=valence electrons are in the f orbital So s, p, d, f are the orbital notations of any elements.
