I am also M.sc in chemistry and teaching in a school. 4 years back when i completed my masters i was unsure of what to do next then one day i came across an article about translator& interpreters. I always had a curiosity in Japanese language so started learning the language. 4 years later i currently teach japanese as well as work as a freelance translator. Payment is better obviously but you have to be constantly educating yourself in this field. You have to be updated and have to have zeal to learn new things. But first of all find out by yourself which language attracts you the most...In terms of payment Japanese, Chinese and German tops the list. But other languages are also good. As Japanese and Chinese are the two most difficult languages to master the payment is obviously high. So do not waver..just pick up your choice of language and start learning and keep your patience. You have to balance your job as well as your studies. Hope it helps

Writing and reading Kanji like a native can be very satisfying, but it requires great deal of practice and patience. Surely there are number of ways to remember Kanji, like, flashcards and others, but in my opinion the best way to remember is writing and applying the Kanji that you have learnt so far in texts that you write. Writing by hand is the best way to remember. Suppose you are writing "It is raining." and in the sentence you only know the Kanji of rain, so you write rain in Kanji and rest in hiragana.." ?????????” like this you write. When you study the kanji of ?????? then you use that Kanji instead of hiragana. This way eventually you will remember the vast Kanji list. Hope that helps
