"When I read the book named How to get that job, it already mentioned many pre to post interview things along with some tips. Attending his session today added more to it. He discussed some tips for making yourself more employable and SAR method, shared with us the ikigai technique and resume writing tips. Along with career advice he also talked about empowering yourself. It was quite an interactive session as everyone's doubt were cleared personally. Overall it was a nice experience and I am happy that I choose to spend 3 hours of my Sunday there. "

"I am need of some career guidance. I completed my Bachelor degree (BA) after marriage with a small kid. I used to be a bright kid at school and in college. Due to early marriage, family problems, I have lost them. I am 24yrs old. I wanted to continue my studies. Please guide me that in which field it would be preferable for me? What courses will help me to find my goals? As I am quick learner, I can make it possible if I think of achieving it! Please help me!" in   Life Skills Coaching/Career Counselling, Life Skills Coaching/Career Growth & Advancement

Hi Lavanya, I am impressed with your learning spirit. Ther are a lot of courses that are available what is more important is what you prefer. Studying is a different thing and working after you complete your studies is different. What is it that you are studying for? To earn? To have yourself occupied? You also mention that you have done your BA, looking at it I can suggest you pursue your masters and become a consulting psychologist or take up a diploma course in your preferred stream of the hobby. We need more clarity on before we can give an exact suggestion. Best wishes and keep learning.

"How can I prepare for the interview within very short time? Like in two/three days." in   Life Skills Coaching/Soft Skills Training/Interview Skills

I suggest following 3 steps: - 1. Research - about the company, position, interviewer, Function, Department etc. 2. Prepare - 67% of the interviewer will judge you within 30 seconds of you entering the interview room. (1st impression is very important) Your TMAY (Tell Me something about yourself) is very critical. You should be well versed with your resume. 3. Follow-up - 60% of the candidate do not follow up after the interview. There are 30% additional chances of you getting selected if you do the follow-up. Remember to use SAR (Situation-Action-Result) formula to explain any situation that you are asked for. - Jogesh

"Is career counseling important to find a good job?" in   Life Skills Coaching/Career Counselling, Life Skills Coaching/Career Growth & Advancement, IT Courses/Tivoli Career Opportunities

According to me, there are precisely 2 most important decisions in one's life. The decision of choosing a right career and the decision of one's marriage. If taken incorrectly or in haste would result in multiple losses. You may not call it career counseling but I would say career mapping which is very important. In career mapping, one should map his/her strengths with his work arena by doing so he will not only earn good money but will be really happy with what he/she is doing. At the end what matters is the happiness out of what we do, right?
