Overview

I am a British Council certified IELTS trainer as well as a Business English trainer with 15 years of experience in various roles.
I offer intense 30-hour classroom training for IELTS spread over five weeks, along with daily inputs and personal attention to each participant. Sessions are conducted over the weekends for 3 hours each on Saturday & Sunday, out of a well-equipped training room of a workplace in Koramangala. There is complete guidance from the start of the course until the day of the exam, and the training is designed for test takers to achieve Band 7 and above. My students routinely score Band 7 on an average and have completed up to an overall band score of 8.5.
Each batch size is limited to a maximum of 7 participants so that I can focus on the needs of every student. On the non-class days too, all students receive online inputs in the form of lessons and exercises which ensures daily practice and improvement. Regular tests are given to track progress. Practice for the verbal section takes place precisely like a live exam. They are always one-on-one sessions with me, with immediate corrections and feedback. There is extensive practice done for the writing tasks with constant and detailed evaluation.

Teaching Experience in detail in IELTS Coaching classes

As a British Council certified trainer, I coach both students as well as professionals for the Academic and General Training modules of IELTS. The USP of my offering is that I train in very small batches( not more than 6-7 students) which enables me to provide individual attention, and is beneficial to the participants as well to derive optimal benefit from the coaching. All my assessment and feedback w.r.t speaking and writing sections are on an individual basis. The training is customised to the requirements of each group. Since IELTS is a proficiency test, I believe it is vital to assist students on a daily basis in order to enhance their listening, reading, speaking and writing abilities in multiple ways and my training inputs strive to do so. I believe that the guidance for an exam is incomplete without inputs till the very end, so I aid all my students even after the training till they take the IELTS exam. When I train online, it's an intense, exclusive, learner-centric training tailor made to the needs of the test taker. My students have been successful in achieving their target scores of Band 7 and above and have eventually migrated to different countries as per their aspirations.

"I took Priya weekend classes with her and was very happy as she gives individual attention and focuses on your area of weakness. And her tips and tricks for the exams were very useful and i did get good scores too. Its far better than going for coaching classes where you do not get inputs on your specific area of need. "

"Priya madam is very focused. She understands your level at each module of ielts and customize the course. I could get decent score only because of her guidance. I saw many students approached her after many attempts and finally got their score under her mentoring. Thanks madam for your extended support even after the course tenure. "

"I would like to say Priya Mitran has given me more than beyond what was expected from her. She have always been there with any issues that I came up with, during sessions. Its just because of her that I have scored 7 in writing section, and I would recommend her to everyone who is struggling to get the desired score in IELTS. Thanks Priya, for all your help ! :) "

"I want to know how much minimum time is required to prepare for International English Language Testing System to get a band of 7.5. My English is average though I can write and talk in English quite confidently." in   Exam Coaching/Foreign Education Exam Coaching/IELTS Coaching

Hi Shailja! The preparation time depends on your current proficiency level and the amount of time you can regularly devote to practice. To have an estimate, take a complete IELTS mock test and get an assessment done with an IELTS trainer, especially for the speaking and writing sections. I am assuming 7.5 is your overall score requirement. Among all the sections, getting a score of 7 or above for writing is the trickiest where most test takers need help and/or time to improve. Being aware of the assessment parameters and having a good control of grammar and vocabulary is key to achieving a high score.

"Which part of IELTS is tough? Is it -speaking, reading, writing or listening?" in   Exam Coaching/Foreign Education Exam Coaching/IELTS Coaching

Hi Kishore, The writing section of the IELTS exam is the trickiest. Listening and Reading have 40 questions with 40 marks and specific question types. So if you are familiar with the types of questions and practice well, they aren't difficult. Speaking and Writing sections do not have marks. Each of the them have 4 assessment criteria which examiners evaluate on and band scores are given for each of the 4 and then averaged out to a final band score for the section. There are 2 writing tasks that need to be completed in the Writing section. So it's important that both tasks fulfill the assessment parameters. The examiners are looking to see if you address all parts of the question, write the adequate number of words for each task, if your writing is coherent and your arguments logically sequenced with a good range of vocabulary and grammatical accuracy. So, in order to score well, one needs to be aware of how writing is assessed and practice accordingly. Consistent effort is required to improve vocabulary and eliminate grammatical errors and write complex sentences for a band score of 7 and above.

"How can i improve my reading score?" in   Exam Coaching/Foreign Education Exam Coaching/IELTS Coaching

Become familiar with the type of questions that are asked in the passages - sentence completion, multiple choice, identifying the writers view(yes, no, not given), identifying information (true, false, not given), choosing paragraph headings, diagram label completion etc. Also, it's a good idea to skim and scan through passages to save time, instead of reading the section completely and then attempting answers. Do not linger too much in a section as there is no negative marking for wrong answers. Finally, reading skills improve if you read up on a variety of topics outside of your IELTS practice lessons. It aids in your writing section as well.
