Salary range of IBPS RRB officers:

For Office Assistant Rs. 7200 – Rs. 19,300 (approx)
For Officer Scale I Rs. 28000 – Rs. 31000 (approx)
Officer Scale II post Rs. 32000 – Rs. 38000 (approx)
Officer Scale III post Rs. 36000 to Rs. 42000 (approx)

A total of 16,560 candidates will be hired in the 2016 IBPS RRB recruitment process across India.

The IBPS RRB exam is conducted in two phases – Online exam and Interview. While many apply and appear for the online first round, only shortlisted candidates are called for the interview. After the interview, further shortlisting is done by examiners to pick the best of students and place them in RRBs of the country.

The first round or online exam of IBPS RRB is also referred to as Common Written Exam (CWE).

For Officer Scale I, there are three phases in IBPS RRB exam namely, Prelims , Mains and Interview. The interview or final round is conducted by by the Nodal RRBs, NABARD and IBPS in consultation with other authorities.

If students have preference in the banks they will be posted, they can mention those in the IBPS RRB application form.

In 2016, the IBPS RRB exams are being conducted in November and December respectively.

A single candidate can apply for different RRB positions/openings. However, they have to apply individually for each exam and pay the required fees / charges separately for each post applied for.

Nationality / Citizenship criteria for IBPS RRB exam applicants:

A candidate must be either -

(i) a Citizen of India or

(ii) a subject of Nepal or

(iii) a subject of Bhutan or

(iv) a Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or

(v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India, provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) & (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

Age criteria for IBPS RRB applicants (depending on job roles/openings they apply for)

For Officer Scale- III- 21- 40 years

For Officer Scale- II- 21 – 32 years

and later than 31.08.1995 (both dates inclusive)

For Officer Scale- I-18 – 30 years

For Office Assistant (Multipurpose) - 18 – 28 years

Note : All questions in IBPS RRB exam (both prelims and mains) are objective type.

There is negative marking in IBPS exams. 0.25 marks is deducted from total score for each wrong answer you give.

IBPS RRB Interview

Candidates who qualify the IBPS prelims and mains exam, are then taken ahead for the final interview round. The total score of the IBPS RRB interview round is 100 marks, where 40 is considered qualifying marks. In case of backward classes, the qualifying marks in IBPS RRB exam is 30-35 percent.

The fraction percentages scored in IBPS RRB exam are rounded off like –  59.99% to 60% and 54.99% to 55%.

The relative weightage ratio of IBPS RRB CWE and interview will be 80:20 for all exams.

Candidates who cannot score the qualifying mark of IBPS interview session are barred thereafter.

During IBPS interview session, each candidate has to submit the following valid documents:

(iii) Proof of Date of Birth

(iv) Photo Identify Proof

Requisites for IBPS RRB online application:

  • Scan photograph and signature
  • Valid Email ID
  • Credentials to make online payment (Debit Cards (RuPay / Visa / MasterCard / Maestro), Credit Cards, Internet Banking, IMPS, Cash Cards/ Mobile Wallets.

Process to apply for IBPS RRB exam online (step wise):

  1. Browse the official website of IBPS.
  2. Find the Regional Rural Bank (RRB) Recruitment tab – CWE for RRBs.
  3. Once you reach the IBPS RRBs page, click on one of the following links “CLICK HERE TO APPLY ONLINE FOR CWE- RRBs- 16 OFFICERS (Scale-I, II and III)” or “CLICK HERE TO APPLY ONLINE FOR CWE- RRBs- OFFICE ASSISTANTS (Multipurpose)” – depending on the post you want to apply for.
  4. Click on : Apply Online 2016.
  5. Fill details like name, email ID, mobile number, and all other data correctly.
  6. On completing successful online registration for IBPS RRB exam, the system will generate provisional registration number and password. The same will be sent to your email id and phone number (as registered). This is important as you will need this to log in to your IBPS account using this registration number & password thereafter.
  7. Upload your digital photograph and signature (with black pen).
  8. Do the online fee payment for IBPS RRB exam.
  9. Print the e-receipt of fee payment.
  10. Lastly, print submitted IBPS RRB application form.

For every stage of IBPS RRB exam, IBPS provides admit card for every student. Please download and take print out of each of your IBPS RRB exam session before you reach the exam center.

Tips for IBPS RRB exam:

a) Its recommended to apply for one opening for each candidate. This allows better exam preparation and also, makes it easy for the candidate to take up the test.

b) As the IBPS RRB exam contains only objective type questions, its suggested to prepare short notes during studying. This will hel you to learn and remember easily. Also short notes become handy while revising right before the day of exam.

c) Online mock tests are held for IBPS RRB exam. Before hitting the exam hall, attempting such mocktests will boost your confidence and also give you a hand-on idea about the IBPS RRB exam experience.

d) For the quant and reasoning section of IBPS RRB exam, there are formulas and approaches. Learn them to solve your paper fast on the final exam day.

e) The IBPS RRB exam contains a reading passage in Reasoning section. This needs to be read really fast on the exam day. Hence make sure you have skilled reading speed before you reach the exam center.
