I am an Indian vocalist, who is passionate about singing and teaching music. I perform classical and Ghazal as well in the concerts. I had my own music academy in Michigan, USA and have been invited for many Indian classical workshop before moving to Hyderabad. I was associated with a few music bands in Michigan.
I have also launched several online music courses on different platforms; recently launched course
I would be happy to guide music on Skype or G mail (google hangout) or in person teaching as well.
I always recommend my students to practice daily and provide recorded audios to make them practice at home.

What are the typical indian classical songs which a good learner should attempt first?

I think some simple songs from yaman or bhoopali. The best songs for the beginners are the pure classical songs from films which they can identify pretty well. Example: jab deep jale aana from raga yaman. Learning or listening to them, one not only enjoys the song, but gets familiar with the raga too... ...more

I have good voice and I can sing, but want to learn music now at the age of 33, can I ????

Hey Sheetal, you should indeed continue as music (or any art) doesnt have age barriers; in fact it matures through age. Rare people think out of their comfort zone and you are one of them, so go ahead. You can join my classes in person or Skype initially if you like. Thanks
