1. Increasing Agricultural Productivity:

Intensive agriculture is one of the part of modern agriculture. This has led to increase in productivity and so increase in the national income and well being of the economy.

2. Health Hazards:

Indian agricultre is the victim of its own past. Green revolution has led to increase in productivity. This has also led to threat to quality of drinking water due to use of chemical fertilizers.

3. Industrial Growth:

Increase in modern agriculture has led to more use of modern inputs such as tractors, electric motor, pumps, chemical fertilizers etc which has led to increase in industrial growth.

4. Development of organic farming:

Green revolution has led to diminishing results and increasing population has made  organic farming more popular.  It is an ancient method of cultivation. It will surely led to decline in our foreign exchange reserve due to low productivity.
