Dr. Manju S.

I am a Sociologist by training and completed my Ph.D in year 1994 and have served with distinction as the Vice-Principal at a leading college in Jaipur for 5 years & have presented paper(s) at national & international fora including at the prestigious World Congress of Sociology. I also have deep interest in cognitive development in early childhood. I've worked with a leading pediatrician in Hyderabad for many years on honorary basis for the cognitive development of children who have difficulties in learning including those with autistic disabilities.

Teaching is my passion and with my bonhomie & affable nature. I am very easily able to connect with children of all age groups and from any background. I have been Quality Executive with Sunshine Pre-Schools for 1 year and have also taught Classes XI & XII at the Baldwin Girls High School in Bangalore.

I've been teaching kids since last 10 years and have focused on English & Hindi for Class I-V and Vocabulary, Comprehension etc in English for Classes up to XII Standard. I am known among my students and in my family for patience, care and compassion. Parents often call & confide in me issues about children's behavior; I advise & counsel them. My aim is to make a 'low performer' child transform to 'above average performer' by changing her/his attitude towards the subject. My focus is also on building self-esteem and confidence in children. Besides, academics I also talk about values, moral & ethics.

I am also associated with NGOs & other social organisations and work Pro Bono with underprivileged children on regular basis. I am motivated to continuously learn & share knowledge with many. A book on innovative play techniques with children for better cognitive development written by me is publication and shall be out soon.
