GMAT Registration

The first step towards GMAT exam is registering for the test. The process of GMAT registration is long and should be done cautiously at every step. Please read the steps carefully for a successful GMAT registration.

a) Book a test center

GMAT registration begins with booking a test center. To know more or register for GMAT exam, click here.

Some test centers are computer adaptive that are available throughout the year. Here, GMAT can be booked any time. There are some Supplementary GMAT test centers where paper based exam is conducted, once or twice a year.

In India, there are total 29 test centers across 26 cities. The list of cities in India with GMAT test centers are as follows:

Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Cochin, Coimbatore, Gurgaon, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Manipal, Mohali, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Patiala, Patna, Pune, Rachi, Tiruchirappalli, Vellore, Vijaywada, Vishakhapatnam

b) GMAT test dates

GMAT test dates are available throughout the year. Weekend dates are difficult to get, while weekdays are easily available. GMAT test dates can be booked 6-months prior to a day before the test date.

GMAC officially recommends to take the test 21-days prior to MBA application deadlines.

c) GMAT Exam Fees

The fees for GMAT exam registration is $250 (15000-16000INR)

Online payment of GMAT exam fees can be done through Visa, Master Card, American Express or JCB.

Offline payment of GMAT exam fees can be done through Cashier?s check, Money order and Personal cheques.

For those applying for GMAT retest more than a week in advance, the fees is $50. (3000 INR approx)

In certain countries the designated fees for GMAT exam is clubbed with an additional tax fee.

d) GMAT eligibility criteria

According to GMAC, following are the four criteria a candidate has to meet up, in order to qualify for the GMAT exam:

a) Candidates must be a graduate passout from a certified university or college.

b) Candidates must be proficient in English language (written and verbal).

c) Candidates age group must be 18+.

d) GMAC sets no upper age limit to take up the GMAT test.

e) In case of GMAT re-test, students need to maintain a gap of 31-days, from the main test date. That is, in a span of a month, the GMAT test can be taken only once.

f) GMAT scores remain valid to be accepted by other universities for up to 5 years.

Noteworthy points about GMAT registration:

a) When you are registering for GMAT exam, make sure you enter the same name and date of birth of the candidate as it appears in their official documents. Official documents need to be carried to the GMAT test center.

b) In India, the GMAT Bulletin & Test Scheduling form is available in the  Infozee office and USEFI in New Delhi.

c) Documents required for GMAT exam should be submitted three weeks prior to the exam date.

d) On receiving and approving the GMAT Test Scheduling Form along with documents, students are offered Confirmation of the date, time and location of GMAT appointment.

e) In India, all GMAT test takers must carry their valid passport on the day of exam. Though passport is not required during the GMAT registration process.

f) GMAT result is valid for total five years, and is available for reporting for up to 10 years. GMAT scores over 10 years old, are not available.
