Can a ECE Student attempt GATE CSE Paper I'm from ece and wanted to attempt gate but im interested to choose my career in software background so i wanted to attempt CSE paper. Is it possible and is it ok to write so?

Yes you can write the paper in CSE Branch but PSU wont consider you for recruitment purpose. you can apply for higher studies at IIT's and NIT's as well as some international universities also consider GATE score for Admissions like NUS (National university of Singapore)
