Hello, You have to compile your Linux OS using standard C compiler for given target board. Then you have to port your Linux OS to a hardware which can be a Beagle Bone board or any other ARM based board. Porting requires u-boot, f-boot and kernel image download to board. If you want to write device driver in Linux kernel then you have to re-compile the whole kernel image. Or if you want to just use existing kernel space then there ins mode available. Or if you want to steal CPU cycles that is also possible on running OS. read less

To develop any application based on linux you should know C/C++ language but preferably C language as device drivers are written in C language. read less
