Ranjan Basu

Profession Photographer


Ranjan Basu, an experienced photojournalist started his career in 1982 and has worked across media houses. He worked with the legendary photographer, Raghu Rai in The India Today Group. He has to his credit publications like Hindustan Times and Asian Age. He was the group photo editor of Planman Media. Basu has covered many important news events in the last three decades and his work has been published in major newspapers and magazines across the world.

Ranjan Basu won a National Award in Photography in the year 2008. He spent 14 days with Naxal cadres in Chattisgarh jungle to cover their lifestyle; amongst other such projects he has also covered the lifestyle of Defense force at the Siachen base camp. An eye to detailing and precision is his trademark.
