Kathak Dance Institute

I am a trained Kathak dancer from Lucknow Gharana and have been learning and dancing for quite a long time, participating in various stage performances and competitions. I graduated from Delhi University with Economics Honours and pursuing a Master's in Kathak from Kheragarh University.

I was always passionate about dancing. My passion and love for kathak led me to begin my Kathak Dance Institute. My greatest motivation behind starting to teach was to spread the culture and art associated with the coming generation. I want to be able to practice kathak in its purest form. Implying, I don’t use Bollywood songs to teach kathak; instead, I prefer classical pieces. Keeping up the purity of the art and respect for its authenticity are the two values I want to pass on to my students. I prefer both online and offline modes. Initially, starting with individual classes to asses the students' learning abilities. And then merge them into groups of students of the same level, wherever they are comfortable, and growth is assured.

I provide professional courses offered by Prayag Sangeet Samiti, Allahabad. The learning for the students stays according to the syllabus. I provide proper notes to the students for the theory part so they can learn the concepts afterwards, and I often use videos to demonstrate the dance moves for students' effective learning. I have also created a WhatsApp group to share necessary, relevant materials, and the group also helps me check on the students, asking them if they are practising or not and any doubts they have. I focus on the clarity of the moves and go with the flow. My primary goal is to teach the students Kathak in its purest form and intricate details.
