As someone with a Master's degree in Political Science, I have always been passionate about education and teaching. I have about thirty years of experience in teaching. After working in the media industry at Zee TV for a few years, I realised that I wanted to pursue a career in a more honest and meaningful field, and that's when I decided to become a teacher.
My journey as a teacher began during my twelfth standard when I volunteered at a rural area school. I found immense satisfaction in sharing my knowledge with young minds and helping them learn. This experience further fueled my passion for teaching, and I started giving students individual home tuitions and group classes. I teach a wide range of subjects, including Maths, Science, Business Studies, English, and Political Science, to students in grades fifth to tenth and eleventh to twelfth, following the syllabus of various boards such as IB, ICSE, and CBSE. I have both online and offline teaching experience, catering to the needs of different students.
One of the things that set me apart as a teacher is my teaching style. I believe in using a combination of group and one-on-one teaching methods to cater to the unique learning needs of each student. I carefully plan my lessons as per the syllabus and create engaging, interactive lesson plans focused on the student's academic growth. In addition to teaching the prescribed syllabus, I also emphasise the importance of critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and holistic development of my students. I encourage them to ask questions, engage in discussions, and develop a deep understanding of the subjects beyond rote learning.
I use questionnaires related to the CBSE syllabus for practice and preparation to ensure that my students are well-prepared for their exams. I believe in continuous assessment and providing timely feedback to help my students improve their performance and achieve academic success. I am proud to say that most of my students who join my classes continue with me for the next academic year, which is a testimony to the quality of my teaching. In conclusion, my journey as a teacher has been fulfilling and rewarding. Teaching has become not just a profession but a true passion for me, and I look forward to many more years of shaping young minds and contributing to their success.
