Flex has been open source since the release of Flex 3 SDK. Adobe will no longer be the owner of the ongoing roadmap. Instead, the project will be in Apache and governed according to its well-established community rules. Adobe handed Flex over to the Apache foundation as Apache Flex.

In a move that appears to be another step away from its Flash platform, Adobe has submitted the code for its Flash-based Flex framework to the Apache Software Foundation (ASF) to be managed as an independent project, which is known in the name of "Apache Flex". Thanks.
