The ACT stands for the American College Testing, which is an entrance exam. Most of the colleges and universities use the ACT exam to make admission decision. It measures the readiness of a high school student for college & university. It is used as a standardized exam in all united states for getting admission in colleges.

It was first introduced in 1959 by the professor Everett Franklin Lindquist of university of Iowa.

It consists four individual component:-

  • English (45 minutes for 75 questions)
  • Maths (60 minutes for 60 questions)
  • Reading (35 minutes for 40 questions)
  • Science (35 minutes for 40 questions)
  • Optional Writing section (40 minutes for 1 essay)

ACT scores are valid for 5 years. It is mandatory to take all four sections. If you take any one or two among of four, the score will not be consider valid.
