"If a coin is tossed for a certain number of times. How many times the coin was tossed, if the probability of getting a head is 0.4 and it appeared up for 24 times?" in CBSE/Class 9/Mathematics, Tuition/Class IX-X Tuition

Probability of an event = No. Of favourable occurrences / Total no. Of occurrences of all possible events

Let 'n' be the total no. Of times the coin is tossed.

Given probability of success of a head appearing = 0.4

Given the no. Of times 'head' appeared = 24

So, 0.4 = 24 / n

n = 24 / 0.4

So, n = 60.

"The exterior angles obtained on producing the base of a triangle both ways are 100° and 120°. Find all the angles." in CBSE/Class 9/Mathematics, Tuition/Class IX-X Tuition

Let A, B and C be the vertices of the triangle with B and C as the base vertices. If the external angle at C is 100 degrees then the angle C is 80 degrees (because sum of adjacent angles on a straight line is 180 degrees). Similarly if the external angle at B is 120 degrees then the angle B is 60 degrees. So the angle A is 40 degrees. i.e. 180 - (80 + 60).
