Your preparation strategy for cracking CLAT and Law Entrance Exams

Deepti K.

Your basic strategy should be to go along with what is taught in class, as it is a new field and something you are not used to, so take time settling in.

Concentrate on building up on G.K, and get used to new subjects.

Then practise maths, logical reasoning and legal reasoning to increase your speed. Practice Maths again and again.

Read newspapers and novels and everything you could get your hands on. During that time read everything that you can. Fiction, non-fiction, everything that may capture even a bit of you interest, that you feel is good to build up on English. A few hours every day may be enough in the starting.

Take up mock-tests every week and they will be a good judge of how your work is and where you need to focus more.

In the last month, practise everything you can get your hands on. In Maths solve every question at least 8-10 times. G.K is a very wide field and spend some time every-day.

All your focus should be on reducing the time per question. This will help you avoid a race against time even during solving the paper.

Set goals on solving the paper as quickly as you can. Your goal should be to to reduce the time span from 45 seconds per question in the middle months, to 30 seconds per legal question in the end. In the last month you should spent around 10 hours daily on studying.

Give mocks regularly and solve all past papers, CLAT, SET, AILET and the university papers before 2008.

There is no set pattern for how to prepare for CLAT or any other exams. However, you should put their time and effort in preparing the subject that they consider them to be weak at.
