Compounds are formed when two or more elements combine together in a fixed proportion by weight. Whereas, mixtures are formed when two or more elements combine in any proportion by weight.

A dedicated teacher, children friendly,eccentric, broad minded

Compounds combine a fixed ratio and does have a different properties to that of its constituent molecules/elements. eg : water (h20), whereas in mixtures, the constituent materials does possess their own property and can be easily separated with physical method. You cannot separate compounds easily.
