I am a chess coach who has worked with kids and adult players for 8 years. I have coached professionals and am a the national instructor for the US Federation. I have also been a national arbiter in the US since 2007, mostly organizing junior tournaments (in particular US Nationals). My experience includes working with several schools, some at the university level as well as online. I work with most age groups and all skill levels.
Experience: As a chess professional, my goal is to help my students achieve their goals of playing better chess. This is achieved through individualized training plans, with an emphasis on motivation to avoid student burn out, which can be a problem when there are too many kids in one group. I am always trying to improve my teaching by attending training seminars and reading books on how to be an effective chess teacher.
