Richard Feynman said that the only way to learn a subject is to study it in the most random manner possible, and that's true. That statement is valid if you already have the basics in your mind and are doing research. For 11th and 12th, you should first be aware of what you are dealing with and why. If you know why you are studying something, your performance is already boosted.
Next is, how to be attentive; be selfish about your career, about your goals, about your passion, and be Ziddi, Zid for your targets. And once you want something, no power in the world can stop you from having it. Trust me, I was that person, and I cracked IIT in first go just because I was Ziddi.
