Do you think that Java knowledge is required to learn Hadoop and Big Data?

No. Apache has introduced many utilities on top of Hadoop like Hive, Pig which can we used to write the same logic which has to be written in Java. How much beneficial it would be for me to get a job as certified business analyst if I pursue a course in BIG DATA AND R as I am a commerce graduate and having experience in banking.

Hi Indranil, You can pursue your career as big data analyst but as you are from banking background, It will take a bit long. For data analyst, you need to have three skill : Hadoop, Programming in R and Mahout
